How to Get a Short Stay Visa for Slovenia

Slovenia Short Stay Visa

Slovenia Short Stay Visa

If you are planning on going to Slovenia for up to 90 days, you might need to get a Short Stay Visa (i.e. Schengen Visa Type C) for Slovenia.  In general, with the Schengen Visa, you are free to roam the Schengen Territory as you wish.  However, if you plan on spending most of your allotted 90 days in Slovenia, it is advised that you apply for the Schengen Visa at the Slovenia Embassy or Consulate.

The top reasons for getting the Short Stay Visa for Slovenia include tourism, business, personal visit with relatives, or transit.

(Go to my Slovenia visa page for information on other types of visas for Slovenia.)

I’ll break everything down for you below about how to go about getting the Slovenia Short Stay Visa.

  • Visa required for U.S. citizens before you go to Slovenia:  No
    • Slovenia is a party to the Schengen Agreement. As such, U.S. citizens for business or tourism are permitted to stay in the Schengen area for 90 days without a visa within a six-month period.
  • Visa required for non-U.S. citizens before you go to Slovenia:
