How to Get an Long Stay Visa for Romania

Romania Long Stay Visa

Romania Long Stay Visa

If you are planning to go to Romania for a long visit, you might need to get a Long Stay Visa depending on what country you are from.

The Long Stay Visa allows you to enter Romania and stay for a period of up 90 days, BUT it can be extended following an official request at the local branch office of the Romanian Office for Immigration closest to your place of residence. You need to request an extension at least 30 days before expiry of the stay granted by the visa.

Do not overstay your visa, or you might have your visa cancelled and have to go back to your country.

The Long Stay Visa is intended for people coming to Romania for the following purposes:

  • Economic activities
  • Professional activities
  • Commercial activities (such as investment)
  • Religious or humanitarian activities
  • Work
  • Studying
  • Family reunification
  • Research
