Libya Visitor Visa on Arrival

Going to Libya to visit family or friends?  You can get the visitor visa on arrival for Libya.

Go to my Libya visa page for information on the different types of visas for Libya.

I’ll break everything down for you below about how to go about getting the Libya Visitor Visa on Arrival.

Visa required for U.S. citizens before you go to Libya: Yes.

Visa required for non-U.S. citizens before you go to Libya: Required by all foreign nationals.

1
Get a sponsorship/invitation letter

One of the easiest ways to get this letter is through Eye of Libya if you don’t already have a company or sponsorship in Libya.

2
Gather documentation

Your sponsor will ask you to send a scanned copy of your passport, travel dates, roundtrip ticket, and contact information (i.e. the usual stuff).

3
Bring your authorization on your trip

Your tour company will process your paperwork with the Libyan authorities and will then e-mail or fax to you (within 4 to 15 days), a letter in Arabic authorizing you to enter Libya.  Don’t forget to carry this with you.

4
Get your registration stamp

Your tour company will normally handle this for you.

5
Congratulations! That’s it!
