Visa Hunter’s Miscellaneous Tips for France

  • France has a relatively uniform visa process with easy to find information (for those needing a visa).
  • Getting a work visa for France is notoriously difficult.
  • You will first need to get a work contract from a French employer. However, it is a Catch-22 as there are few French employers who will hire you without a work permit…but, in order to get the work permit, you need to get a job from a French employer!
  • If you want to live and work in France, the “easier” routes (instead of getting the work visa) is to get either a student visa or marry a French citizen (I would strongly recommend the former unless you decided that you found the love of your life).
  • The great thing about the student visa is it will enable you to apply for a temporary work permit.
  • Use the links I have provided to guide yourself through the process of how to get a student visa for France or how to get a work visa for France.
