Get a job in Eritrea.

Get a work permit
  • Apply and get approval for a work permit from the Ministry of Labor and Human Welfare in Asmara, Ethiopia.
  • Your company needs to apply for this directly at the Ministry.
  • The work permit approval will be sent to your consulate or to your company in Eritrea.
Find your closest consulate
  • If you’re outside of the U.S. then click here.
  • If you’re inside the U.S.: The consulate you will have to use is located in Washington D.C.:

Gather documentation

Visa fee
  • Double check the fees at the consulate you found above.
Submit materials

Submit your required materials from Step 2 and the visa fee from Step 3 to the consulate you found in Step 1.

Receive your visa

Congratulations! The Embassy of Eritrea will give to you your brand new Eritrea visa.

Want to go outside Asmara?
  • You will need to go to the Tourist Information Centre on Liberation Avenue in Asmara to get a travel permit to travel anywhere outside of Asmara.
