Colombia Investor Visa

Are you planning on deploying money into Colombia?  You will need to get an Investor Visa for Colombia.

A Colombia Investor Visa is for a foreigner who makes a direct foreign investment in his/her own name, in accordance with the International Investments Statute and other conforming rules in force at the time of the request.

(Go to my Colombia visa page for information on other types of visas for Colombia).

I’ll break everything down for you below about how to go about getting the Colombia Investor Visa.

1
Find your closest consulate

If you’re inside the U.S, you can find your “Jurisdiction” (i.e. based on the State you live in).  Go to the link here and look for your State under the heading “Estado”.

If you’re outside of the U.S., find your consulate at this site here.

2
Gather documentation

Here is a sample list of required documents from the Colombia Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

3
Visa fee

The visa fee will depend on your nationality.  Go to your embassy or consulate website to find out the latest visa fee.

4
Submit materials

Submit your required materials from Step 2 and visa fee from Step 3 to the embassy or consulate you found in Step 1.

5
Receive your visa

Congratulations!  The Embassy or Consulate General of Colombia will give to you your brand new Colombia visa.

  • If you applied in person, go pick it up.
