Burma Tourist Visa

If you are traveling to Burma (Myanmar) on tourism, you are going to need to get a tourist visa.  This type of visa will allow you to stay in the country for up to 28 days.

(Go to my Burma (Myanmar) visa page for information on other types of visas for Burma.)

I’ll break everything down for you below about how to go about getting the Burma Tourist Visa.

1
Find your consulate
  •  If you’re outside of the U.S.:  Click here.

Gather the required documents
  • Since the Burma Ministry of Foreign Affairs seems to not feel the need to post any visa information on their website (other than telephone and contact numbers to embassies and consulates), I recommend you check out this link here which has a guideline for the type of stuff required for a Burmese Tourist Visa.
  • You are going to have to go to the website of the Consulate or Embassy you found in Step 1 in order to confirm the documents that are required for you.
3
Visa Fee
  • Visa fees might vary depending on where you apply, so go to the website of the Embassy or Consulate you found in Step 1.
4
Submit your materials
  • Submission instructions will vary from consulate to consulate and embassy to embassy, so you will need to check the submission instructions at the website of the embassy or consulate you found in Step 1.
