Here is my quick list of the top 3 dating sites in Finland. I’ll go into more detail in my reviews below.

Finland is a lot like Denmark when it comes to the dating scene. The market is dominated by a few dating sites and apps that have a lot of members.

The best dating sites and apps in Finland that I’ll discuss below will put you in a good position to get dates in this fine country. If at all possible, try to stick close to Helsinki, the city that has the highest number of singles compared to any other city in the country. Outside of Helsinki, most of these apps and sites are pretty dead.

If you don’t have any luck at Bumble, I would recommend giving Treffit a try. Treffit, Finnish slang for “date”, is the dating portion of Finland’s largest social media site, Suomi24. Suomi24 is also an email provider, a hub for job and used car postings, and host of a hugely popular forum.

As a dating site, Treffit benefits from having a mostly free service, many profiles to choose from, and a hassle-free, easy-to-use platform.

Sign up Process

Signing up for Treffit is about as painless as it gets. Just pick a username and password, and enter your name, birthday, gender and email and you are good to go! Filling out your profile consists of two main sections: your own information, and what you’re looking for in a partner.

For your own information, you can include all of your basic information (gender, age, location, etc.), physical looks, background (children, ethnicity, education, employment, and income), lifestyle (smoking, drinking, exercise and travel habits), values (religious and political views), your favorite things (t.v., music, etc.), and whether or not you’d like to receive “gifts”. You can upload photos and videos as well.

The Ideal Partner section includes most of the above, basic information, looks, background, lifestyle, and values.

How to Locate Potential Matches

You can search for profiles (by location, age, gender, sexual orientation and desired relationship) and view limited profiles without even signing up! I always appreciate the option of dipping my toes in the water before diving in. To communicate with other members and see their photos and full profiles, you’ll have to sign-up. The good news is you can do most everything on the site for free, with the paid options simply providing a few perks.

Treffit also provides a matching feature, which shows you your percent compatibility with other members based on both of your “ideal partner” criteria.

How to Communicate with Other Members

Messaging with other users is mostly the same standard fare you see on other dating sites, with your choices ranging from sending a message (text only), adding them to your favorites, sending a flirt, and sending a “gift” (who sends these anyway?). You can also easily block or report a user for suspicious activity or undesirable content.

One unique communication feature is the Megaphone function, which allows you to post a message to the main search page. Anyone performing a search will see this message, which gives your profile a ton of publicity.

Unique Site Features

Besides the Megaphone feature, a unique feature Treffit offers (that I haven’t seen offered anywhere else) is cruises. Sometimes you will see party cruises, which you can register for on the site, that travel to a number of destinations around Scandinavia and promise an elite selection of the world’s best dance music.

Beyond that, Treffit’s main strength is its simplicity. Especially if you already have a Suomi24 profile, hopping on Treffit is a no-brainer, because you can join and be chatting with singles in mere minutes.

• Premium – Unlimited messaging (up to 100 users a day), see who visited or favorited your profile, read message notifications, better placement in search results, Megaphone feature, ad-free browsing.

3. Tinder

Tinder is the most popular dating app in the world. It is also popular in Finland, but getting an actual date on the app is difficult because there are a lot of timewasters. I would only download Tinder if you have completely run out of options and have a lot of time on your hands
