If you are a foreign official interested in traveling to Japan, you might are going to need to get an Official Visa.

As stated at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan website, this type of visa is intended for administrative and technical employees of diplomatic missions and members of the service staff, etc (and their families).

Find your closest consulate
  • If you’re inside the U.S, you can find your “Jurisdiction” (i.e. based on the State you live in) here.
  • If you’re outside of the U.S., find your consulate at this site here.

Gather documentation

Follow the steps at this link here provided by the Japan Ministry of Foreign Affairs for this type of visa.

Submit materials

Submit your required materials from Step 2 to the consulate or embassy you found in Step 1.

Receive your visa

Congratulations!  You now have a Japan visa!
