How to Get a Transit Visa for Ireland

Are you traveling through Ireland en route to another country? As stated here, nationals of the following states or territorial entities are required to be in possession of a valid Irish transit visa when arriving at a port in the State for purposes of passing through the port in order to travel to another state.

  • Ethiopia
  • Ghana
  • Iran
  • Iraq
  • Lebanon
  • Moldova
  • Montenegro
  • Nigeria
  • Serbia
  • Somalia
  • Sri Lanka
  • Zimbabwe

If you are a citizen of one of the countries above and decide that you want to leave the port at any time during your trip, you are going to need to apply for the Short Stay Visit Visa for Ireland.

Submit materials
  • Submit your required materials from Step 2 and visa fee from Step 3 to the embassy or consulate you found in Step 1.
  • Each consulate or embassy will have different submission instructions. Check out the website of the consulate or embassy you found in Step 1.

Receive your visa

Congratulations!  The Embassy or Consulate of Ireland will give to you your brand new Ireland visa.
