Gather documentation

The best list of required documents if you are applying within the U.S. can be found by following the link here, but as mentioned before go to the website of your consulate or embassy from Step 1.

Visa fee

There will definitely be fees for these types of visas.  The official list of fees is here.

Submit materials

Submit your required materials from Step 2 and visa fee from Step 3 to the embassy or consulate you found in Step 1.

Receive your visa

Congratulations!  The Embassy or Consulate General of France will give to you your brand new France visa.
