Colombia Medical Visa

Colombia Medical Visa

A Colombia Medical Visa is for a foreigner who requires medical treatment which cannot be given within the terms of the visitor’s visa or entry permit.

(Go to my Colombia visa page for information on other types of visas for Colombia).

I’ll break everything down for you below about how to go about getting the Colombia Medical Visa.

1
Find your closest consulate

If you’re inside the U.S, you can find your “Jurisdiction” (i.e. based on the State you live in).  Go to the link here and look for your State under the heading “Estado”:

If you’re outside of the U.S., find your consulate at this site here.

2
Gather documentation

Here is an official list of required documents from the Colombia Consulate in Houston, Texas, but best to double check with the consulate nearest you.

3
Visa fee

The visa fee will depend on your nationality.  Go to your embassy or consulate website to find out the latest visa fee.

4
Submit materials

Submit your required materials from Step 2 and visa fee from Step 3 to the embassy or consulate you found in Step 1.

5
Receive your visa

Congratulations!  The Embassy or Consulate General of Colombia will give to you your brand new Colombia visa.

  • If you applied in person, go pick it up.
  • If you applied by mail, wait until it gets to you.
